Who is CHI Franciscan Health? FHS Group works to provide quality health care to all patients that enter their doors. The first seeds of this health system were planted all the way back in 1891 when the Sisters of St. Francis of Philidelphia worked together to establish the St. Joseph Hospital. This hospital is now known as the St. Joseph Medical Center, which is located in Tacoma. The mission of this health system is to care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of their patients.
